KAT
Born and raised on Vancouver Island, Kat has been passionate about anatomy, biomechanics, intuitive movement as well as health and wellness since she was a teenager. She completed her STOTT Reformer Pilates training in 2019 and her teaching style blends contemporary Pilates with elements of gymnastics, dance and yoga. Her Pilates classes focus on building deep core muscle connection, increasing overall body strength and awareness, and maintaining spinal longevity.
No matter your level or experience, Kat will meet you where you’re at in your fitness journey. Her goal is to help you feel supported so that you can build your Pilates foundation and feel strong in your body!

NICKI
Nicki teaches reformer, mat Pilates, yoga, and barre classes in Victoria. She encourages her students to find both the balance and value in strength, flexibility and alignment.
She has been part of the incredible SALT team since the studio opened in 2019. You can catch her teaching on the weekly schedule, hosting studio special events and leading charity initiatives. When she is not working you can find her in the gym, the pool, the beach and relaxing at the spa.

Katharine came to Pilates through injury, which gave her a deep appreciation for mindful movement and the importance of building strength safely. Experiencing firsthand how transformative Pilates can be in recovery not only helped her regain confidence in her own body, but also sparked a passion for helping others feel strong, supported, and capable in theirs.
Her teaching style focuses on balance and intention. She thoughtfully programs classes so that no one muscle group is overworked, creating well-rounded sessions that promote stability, mobility, and overall body awareness. With a strong emphasis on proper form and controlled movement, she encourages clients to move in a way that feels both challenging and sustainable.

CASSIE
InstructorCassie has been teaching Pilates for over a year and completed her training through a physiotherapy-based program, giving her a strong foundation in anatomy, alignment, and safe movement patterns. With a deep understanding of how the body functions, she places a strong emphasis on proper form and intentional movement, ensuring each exercise is performed with precision and purpose.
Her ultimate goal is for every client to leave class feeling stronger, empowered, and more connected to their body. She strives to help each person build not only physical strength and stability, but also confidence that carries far beyond the studio.
Meet the Founder
After a car accident in 2018, Marissa found herself limited to workouts that supported her recovery, with reformer Pilates becoming the only form of movement that felt both safe and effective. Through this experience, she discovered not only the healing benefits of Pilates, but a lasting passion for the practice.
Recognizing a gap in the local market for a more contemporary, fitness-focused studio, she set out to create Salt Pilates + Barre. The studio blends the strong foundations of traditional reformer Pilates with dynamic, challenging classes designed to build strength, confidence, and resilience.
